SOAPSTONE


Soapstone
-composed of talc, quartz, and various minerals that has compressed over millions of years
-2 types of soapstone: artistic and architectural
-Artistic - softer with higher talc content
-Architectural - harder and denser - morsuitable for countertops, sinks, etc.
-light gray in its natural state (w/ moderate to heavy veining)
-attractive, tough, and durable
-Edge details: square, ease, bevel, radius, double radius, bullnose
-non-porous and chemically neutral
-stain and temperature neutral
-great for residential countertops
